This 45-minute presentation will provide participants with a road map for planning a course that incorporates, or is built around, a digital humanities project based on the principles of “backward design.” This talk will cover the basics of backward design, how to stage a digital humanities project, choose a project stage for course integration, and scaffold the necessary knowledge and skills for students to successfully complete the assigned portion of the DH project. Each step will include practical examples of best practices and lessons learned from other DH projects. The final 15 minutes will be reserved for Q & A. [Static slides available below]
